We also got advices for type design by Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul. And we had time to create the poster with type design which we made during they checking our e-blog.
●Instructions
In this task, we are allowed to design the letters: a b d e g i m o
p t y ! , .
We need focus on how to create good typeface with character,
presence, subtlety and so on using Adobe Illustrator.
●Visual research
Figure 1.1 - 1.3 examples from Pinterest (20/05/2021)
There are good type face to see easily with character and
legibility. For the first one is really cute type face I think
because it is composed with bold type and small margin makes good
character. The next one is also cute type fece, but also it is clean
to see and looks modern. The last one, I really like this because it
is interesting type face with the shape. From these examples, I
could be inspired and think about type face more deeper.
●Idea exploration (sketch)
First, I sketch some idea with a paper like this. For #1 to #5 are my
favorite, particularly I think #1, #2, #4 are good design.
After I designed type, I learned how to export it in type by
watching the lecture.

●Feedback
Week 9 :
Specific feedback
Mr Vinod said about size and form for "m". It needs
compose correct size with the other letters. Also, Mr
Vinod and Mr Shamsul like #1 and #2, recommend me to go
for it with it.
General feedback
All sketches should be digitalized by Week 10 with
focusing some advices.
Week 10 :
Specific feedback
I need to focus on "i" and "! . ," to create them in good balance. Almost all of it is good design Mr Vinod said.
General feedback
The lecture this time had good things to learn type design from others with some their questions. I'm not good at speaking in English, so it is really good for me to learn about task more deeply with somebodies idea.
●Reflections
>Experience
I'm not good at typography, but I thought I like this task so far because it is like just art, illustration and possibility to show my feelings or some think. This time, I create the type design like bubble because I just felt fun, but this experience show me how typography is interesting.
>Observations
Creating type design, designing font is difficult, I noticed this with lectures and task. When I create it, I confused with little error like font information because it will be changed by composing different details. I felt typography is really difficult art ever and am not good at it.
>Findings
I found a lot of type design in the world. I was really inspired by many design because there are many kinds of type such as simple font, complex font and so on. It was very good experience to notice vary font. Of course, I got how to create type design by myself. Fontlab studio is kind of difficult tool for me to compose them, but it was really interesting app I thought.

Figure 1.11 image of the book, Typographie: A Manual of Design
This book is the legacy of Emil Ruder, one of the originator of Swiss Style, famous throughout the world for the use of asymmetric layouts, use of a grid, sans-serif typefaces and flush left, ragged right text. His holistic approach is still recognized as fundamental for graphic designers and typographers all over the world. The voume is a comprehensive masterpiece seen in its overall structure: in the themes presented, in the comparison of similarities and contrasts, in the richness of the illustrations and the harmoniously inserted types. Behind the purely pedagogic examples of exact proportions, a rich, philosophical thinking shines through. Today, fifty years after this book was first published, it is still widely used and referenced.
