Timeline

- Week 2

Targeted audience values [redacted] emotional concept - focusing on expressing the hardships of asthma, but
ending with a hopeful message

Needs GSK need inhalers & blister packaging to be sustainably disposed of. Target audience needs more awareness of how to dispose of inhalers & blister packs
properly, & the consequences if they do not do so.

Challenges Target audience may only see the sculpture as an art piece, rather than a piece telling
them to dispose of inhalers & blister packs properly.

Barriers Reliance on sculpture imagery to spread awareness, can be easily misunderstood or
overlooked.

For my idea, I thought that we can create some art craft by the stuff which became
garbage but mix or fix the shape like below examples :
Therefore I thought that we can produce only the some craft after using it.

I thought it could serve as a playground for children and at the same time convey to
adults the importance of sorting garbage correctly and utilizing existing materials
for other purposes.

After creating the art stuff, we can produce the place where everyone can enjoy the art
from recycle things and know about the issue of asthma patients and so on.
In addition to the name "creative reuse," this activity is also called "waste wood art,"
"eco-art," or "recycled art," and is one of the most important new initiatives for
a future recycling-oriented society that takes the global environment into
consideration. By taking a new perspective of turning trash into artwork instead of
throwing it away, we can not only help solve the problem of waste reduction, but
also make a significant change in the mindset of each individual.

It can be some traditional shape like those......

Or some patients can into art, also put some message from them. Flexible,
inventive art, regardless of the size or collaboration with the patient.
Also I considered that Art exhibition to emphasize the preciousness of life. Like this....

Also I thought I we can create some animation for gathering people who to be interested
in this problem.

Feedback

For this week, I couldn't join the meeting which discuss the task, ideation. But also I could catch up with the task and contribute own idea with group, so it was good time to understand this project and got motivation for this.

Next course of action

We'll thinking about the interview to gather the information for the ideation.

- Week 3

After we did the presentation, we also started ideation for create some art craft in this project.

Figure 1.1 the pdf of presentation slides

So for my idea, I would like to express the good cycle that is why I make it directly to tell people how importance recycle is for us. The idea sketch shows that it can be created with the peace of inhaler materials.

Figure 1.2 the screenshot of the Miro board

Figure 1.3 the screenshot of the Miro board

Figure 1.4 the rough sketch for ideation

Figure 1.5 the rough sketch for ideation

It can express the good cycle to trash inhaler correctly, makes some people happy with the material which can be recycled.

The connection of the pieces is represented by attaching them with string or glue.

Figure 1.6 the screenshots on miro

Recycled inhalers are used to create the actual inhaler. From there, it is derived in the shattering stage to form a human smile. This represents a virtuous circle for the environment in which people live by recycling.
When the work is made in 3D, it can be seen from various angles because it can be viewed three-dimensionally. From one side, you can see recycling and smiling faces, and from the other side, you can see garbage returning to the earth.
The inhaler and the smiling face of the person are connected by the fragments of the inhaler, representing the cycle of reuse.

The patients or who have asthma / chronic illnesses can into the art like shaped by the materials which was used by them. It just need to crush into the small parts and gather with glue, so no need to prepare particular method, materials. Also it express that everybody can make some art craft and show the thought, good cycle.

It is just the rough sketch but also it is can be created the peace of inhaler with making small for create the shape

 3 - Virtuous Cycle

  • Theme: Recycling

  • One sentence concept description :

    - A virtuous cycle that leads to smiles, a work that expresses the connection between humans and the environment, the earth

    - One side is an expression that leads from the inhaler to people's smiles, and the other side is an expression that leads people's hands to a clean earth.

  • How it works is as follows:

    - Present a straightforward message to ensure that everyone knows the necessity of recycling and how it impacts our lives, and that it motivates people to act.

  • What does it include, both in terms of structure and use:

    - Create three-dimensional art by connecting pieces of inhalers with glue or string, other paints, cardboard, waste paper, aluminum foil, scissors, cutters, tape, etc.

  • What we intend to learn more about with this concept:

    - How to use fragments to transmit a message to the audience through three-dimensional sculpture while simultaneously expressing it as a beautiful piece of art?

    - How can art go beyond empathy and compassion to motivate and inspire people to take action?

Feedback

We tried ideation again and discussed about it was really fun for me. There's a lot of kind of idea and sketch, as a result we decided to continue with the idea which express the ocean with rubbish, plastic.

Next course of action

We are gonna start to create the prototype and think about the material again and discuss about some issue with the project making.

- Week 4

After we prepared the ideation part, also we did presentation in zoom. For next week, we'll get start to create the prototype and real one through the session for showing the process.

We discuss about the design, we chosen two of them and make it merge into one idea.

Feedback

Our group create a prototype on Sunday and faced some issue to make it more clear and stable. We need to look for the material which can make it stable such as poll. Also we divided into the part and began to create them.

Next course of action

To continue to create the part and part for the project design after we done the prototype with a few meeting.

●Reflections

Experience :

The ideation process likely provided a creative and collaborative experience for me and my team. It may have helped me generate a wide range of ideas and perspectives related to the problem of managing waste with blister packs.
The process may have also allowed us to explore new and innovative solutions to this problem.

Observation :

I may have observed that some ideas generated during the ideation process were more feasible or practical than others. I may have also observed patterns or themes emerging from the ideas, such as the I may have noticed differences in the level of engagement or participation among team members during the ideation process.

Findings :

Based on the experience and observations, we may have identified some key findings that can guide the next steps in the project.
For example, I may have found that incorporating user feedback and insights is important for developing solutions that meet the needs of different stakeholders.
We may have also found that addressing the root causes of the problem, such as over-packaging or lack of infrastructure, is important for long-term sustainability.
These findings can inform the development of a more targeted and effective approach to managing waste with blister packs.

Better Than Shin-Pin: The Story of Recycling for Children, by Robert Broder.

This is the first picture book by the outdoor brand Patagonia. Through the story of a sea lion entangled in an abandoned fishing net and the children of Chile, the book tells about the dangers of marine pollution and the appeal of recycling. At the end of the book, data on marine pollution is included. The book is made of 100% recycled paper, which is recycled from used paper. The book allows readers to confront global environmental issues not only through its contents but also through the picture book itself. After reading the book, it is a good opportunity to discuss what is "much better than Shin-Pin" for you.

On the Beach 2," by Yogan Lehl.

This book is written by designer Yogan Lehl, who has lived in Japan for over 40 years since arriving here in 1971, and in 2006 launched the "Babaghuri" brand, which focuses on natural materials and handicrafts. The author's "last job" was a project to make lampshades from trash found on the beach. On the Beach 1," a compilation of this project, is sold out and unavailable, but in "On the Beach 2," flip flops rotting on the beach are compiled like specimens.

Plastic Reality and Ideas for the Future

It has been about 70 years since plastics were mass-produced and began to spread throughout society.
While it has brought great convenience and benefits to mankind, the material's properties of being insoluble in water and non-corrosive have had disastrous effects on the ecosystem.
In recent years, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has identified plastic pollution, including "plastic soup," as the biggest crisis facing the world.
In this book, we shed light on the current state of plastics and propose ideas for realizing a post-plastic world that should be promoted in the future.
